Who We Are
A DYNAMIC COMMUNITY OF ARTISTS AND DESIGNERS WORKING ACROSS DISCIPLINES
For over ten years Platform Studios has provided a creative environment for the local community. Our resident artists make Platform their studio space but it is also a classroom, critical forum, event space, and way to connect with the neighborhood and city.
Located at Hubbard Street Lofts, Platform Studios is part of a long tradition of bringing art to the public in Chicago. Our flagship figure drawing sessions run twice a week and additional workshops are also available. In addition to drawing and painting our resident artists work across media, including digital design, music, and video. Engaging with a diversity of ideas and perspectives is one of the many things that makes Platform a vibrant creative environment.
Platform Studios Chicago was assembled to provide a venue for expression and inspiration to both the artists and to the Chicago artistic community. It was founded by Artist/Designer Trevor O'Neil, Artist/Musician Michael O'Briant and Artist/Architect Mark Verwoerdt.
Since its inception in May 2010, Platform Chicago has grown to a collective of 14 resident artists working in a variety of media, including painting, illustration, furniture design, jewelry and accessory design, video and sculpture.
